Dear San Diegans,

I’m asking for your support to change “business as usual” at City Hall.

    It’s time to put our financial house in order, require accountability and get back to basics.

    As your volunteer City Planning Commissioner for the past 3 years, I have been an independent community voice, asking the tough questions and doing the public’s business in public.

    I have worked as a volunteer for the past 15 years with every City department in one capacity or another – so I understand what works and what doesn’t work, and how to open up the culture of secrecy that has consumed our resources, killed morale and trashed our good name.

    My track record shows that I can pull people together to get things done. With your help and support, I can make a bigger difference by being on the City Council.

    I’ve witnessed first hand the mismanagement at city hall: not just the fiscal corruption the city we love has endured, but the chaos and distraction from our other critical needs:

• Make-you-crazy traffic
• Too few cops on the beat, with too little back-up
• Unacceptable emergency response times
• Car-punishing potholes
• Clean parks and beaches
• Growth without infrastructure

    On the City Council, I will hire a team with the expertise to provide appropriate oversight and accountability for the City's multi-billion-dollar bureaucracy.

    I’m told this will be a knock-down drag-out race for control of the heart and soul of the City Council.
